The Buckeye Iron & Brass Works were founded in 1848 (incorporated June 27, 1876) by Walter B. Pease in Dayton, Ohio. Its industry was nozzles, dry-break couplings and underwing aircraft refueling couplers and its headquarters remained in Dayton, Ohio. In 1965, the firm was acquired by Emco, Ltd. and operations were moved to Conneaut, Ohio. The operation was briefly known as Emco-Buckeye, Inc. before it was merged with the A. W.
