Aside from being gorgeous and super sharp, these knives are enjoying a second incarnation. Richard Cooper at Dog Boy Knives forges each one from worn out metal files and Australian hardwood sawmill offcuts. These knives are made with high-carbon steel, prized by chefs for its exceptional strength and ability to stay sharp. However, they are not dishwasher safe and they will tarnish or rust if not cared for. After use, these knives should be hand washed and dried.  Just like your favourite pair of jeans or leather coat, there are small imperfections in each component that add patina, character, and individuality to each knife. They are shipped with a coating of beeswax metal conditioner to protect the blade in transit. Every knife is forged into a variety of shapes with different wood handles and metal pins, so no two knives are the same. Wear marks and imperfections are part of the beauty and individuality.
