A booster provided impermissible benefits to the father of former player Vadal Alexander, who played for the Tigers during that span.LSU self-imposed the penalty after receiving a notice of allegations from the NCAA in March 2022. The school is currently on probation due to former offensive line coach James Cregg's recruiting violations, according to Yahoo Sports' Christina Huang.Miles established a 114-34 record as LSU coach from 2005 to 2016. He has a 145-73 record and .665 winning percentage throughout his collegiate coaching tenure, which included stops at Oklahoma State and Kansas. Coaches are required to have a .600 career winning percentage in at least 100 games to qualify for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.The vacated wins would drop Miles' career winning percentage to .597 with an overall record of 108-73. A football coach is eligible for nomination into the hall of fame three full seasons after they retire.
