Japan’s rhythmic gymnastics team, nicknamed Fairy Japan, is a gold contender at the Tokyo Olympics. The team’s slump was broken by Yamasaki Hiroko, a leading gymnast in the 1980s, who helped the team build this new strength over 17 years.
