Description

I have always been very impressed with the fit of yoke sweaters. Knitted from the top down, the sweater can be tried on to check for fit and allow for possible adjustments. While many of today’s yoke sweaters contain stranded color work, I wanted to design a one-color version, where the texture of cables and the tweed look of the yarn are the main attraction. The Javelin sweater is by no means “just another yoke sweater.” The cable texture pattern extends past the yoke’s body and sleeve separation. The small 2-stitch cables continue into the hem and then match up with hem and cuff cable repeats. The yarn I’ve chosen for this yoke sweater looks a lot like tweed but is not. The signature blend of Merino wool, cashmere, and silk makes Arranmore Light pretty much perfect in every way. It is lighter and delivers more yardage than regular 100% wool yarns, and the nice stitch definition highlights the cable work.
