Organic Cotton Poplin - Black, Plain Fabric

Organic cotton poplin, smooth mediumweight shirting fabric woven in India. 100% GOTS certified organic cotton. Suitable for dressmaking, quilt backing, bedding, shirting, children's clothes. Also available in white from Ray Stitch, London.

Price is per HALF metre. Multiple quantities will be cut as a continuous length.

100% organic closely-woven and smooth shirtweight white cotton poplin, 200 count. Fabric made from 100% organic cotton grown and produced by Fair Trade organisations in Northern India. The cotton is not sprayed with toxic insecticides and the fabrics are safely dyed using GOTS approved non-azo dyes. Perfect for lightweight garments, small homewares, bedding and quilt backing.

100% organic cotton. 145cm wide. 120 g/m2.

Please note, as this fabric is organic, there may be minor irregularities to the weave.

We recommend that you prewash this fabric before cutting in case of any minor shrinkage due to the finishing processes used. Wash at 30˚ with mild detergent. Line dry and use minimal tumble drying. Iron on a med-hot cotton setting.

Production notes: Raw material is certified organically-grown from India and spun into yarn in India at a GOTS-certified mill. The cloth is woven on small power looms in a small fair trade community in Kerala, India. Bleached using oxy or hydrogen peroxide methods.
