Atlanta Braves ace Spencer Strider believes anything short of a World Series victory in 2024 will be a disappointment for the franchise."I think that there should be no acceptance of anything less than winning a World Series in this organization," Strider said Saturday, according to Bally Sports."This is the most talented team in baseball. We need to set our bar as high as possible and anything less than that is an underachievement for us."The Braves haven't won a playoff series since winning the World Series in 2021. They were sent home by the Philadelphia Phillies in consecutive NLDS matchups.The Braves won a league-best 104 games in the regular season in 2023 and led MLB in a number of offensive categories.Strider enjoyed a strong season on the mound for the Braves in 2023. The 25-year-old led all hurlers with 20 wins and 281 strikeouts and registered a 3.86 ERA and 1.09 WHIP over 186 2/3 innings.Strider is expected to lead a deep and experienced Braves rotation that also features Max Fried, Charlie Morton, Chris Sale, and Bryce Elder.
